Stay with us while visiting Grand Circle Attractions

Kaibab (pronounced “ky-bab”) is a Paiute indian word meaning “mountain lying down.” Kaibab Lodge is in the heart of the North Kaibab National Forest just five miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park’s North Rim.

Built “about 1926-1927,” the lodge is said by some to have once been a working cattle ranch. Now it’s a quiet place where people come to see deer, wild turkey, the unique kaibab squirrel, a variety of wild birds, or to visit the national park. At 8,770 feet above sea level, the lodge is cool when the surrounding desert is hot.

The guest rooms are in rustic cabin-style buildings a short walk from the main lodge. Most are basic sleeping accommodations with double beds and private bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. Three exceptions are described below. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms (except in Sam's Cabin and Deerview), however pay telephones and satellite/cable television are available to our guests in the main lodge.

Sam's Cabin is an original cabin that has been extensively remodeled. It contains two double beds and a set of bunk beds to accommodate a family or group of up to six persons, and it has satellite television.

Deerview is a modular unit located in the forest fringe at the top of the meadow. It has a queen size bed in a private bedroom, bathtub with shower, microwave oven, refrigerator, and a living room area with sofa. Deerview is a non-smoking unit.

Meadowview is a contemporary log cabin that can accommodate up to eight people in two bedrooms (a queen bed and a double bed) and a loft furnished with a double bed and two twin beds. This unit also has a bathtub with shower, microwave oven, refrigerator, and living room area with sofa. Meadowview is a non-smoking unit.

Our dining room is open each morning for our full continental breakfast. For dinner, Kaibab Lodge presents casual dining with entrées for all appetites.

In the lodge, relax around the old stone fireplace. Enjoy a glass of wine. Chat with family and friends. Browse around our little souvenir shop for that special memento of your trip.

Because water is so scarce on the plateau, we haul our water by truck from 60 miles away. Due to this scarcity, we don't have a swimming pool and water conservation is asked of all guests.

Across the meadow at the North Rim Country Store you can buy gasoline, diesel, groceries and snacks, automotive supplies, camping equipment, film, and lots of great souvenirs.

The Kaibab Lodge opens for the summer season in mid-May on the day the state traditionally reopens the Grand Canyon North Rim Parkway. The lodge summer season ends between mid and late October. The North Rim Country Store is open for business from mid-May through mid-November providing full services (including gas and diesel.)

The Kaibab Lodge considers a group as occupying ten or more rooms. A separate price structure applies, and rates are based on double occupancy that include lodging for one night, a full continental breakfast, dinner, tax, and tips. (Alcohol, dessert, and beverages other than coffee or tea at dinner are excluded.)

Individuals: Your credit card number will be held as a guarantee to confirm your reservation only until 5 pm on your day of arrival. You may guarantee late arrival by sending a prepayment of the first night's stay by check. If you have not prepaid, you need to check-in by 5 pm or your room will be released in an effort to resell it. If we do not resell your room, your credit card will be charged for that night's rate.

Cancellations must be received by 3 pm, 72 hours (3 days) before your arrival. If you cancel within the 72-hour period, your credit card will be charged for that night's rate. This charge will be refunded only if the lodge is able to fill completely. Cancellations are taken 8 am - 9 pm at 928-638-2389. As proof of cancellation, you must receive and retain a cancellation number.

Since we are on the highway to the north rim, if you have not prepaid your first night by check, please stop and check-in with us before continuing on to the park. Your room may not be ready until after 3 pm, but by checking in early, you can secure your room for the night and not risk losing it because you couldn’t get back by 5 pm.
